[Un]bound is an exhibition curated by Curtis Jones, printmaking instructor at the University of Oklahoma. It is comprised of installations by Laura Berman (Kansas City, MO), Tim Dooley and Aaron Wilson (Cedar Falls, IA), John Hitchcock (Madison, WI), Emily Arthur Douglas (Atlantic Beach, FL), Jenny Schmid (Minneapolis, MN), and Curtis Jones (Norman, OK). The artists employ printmaking as a foundation for three-dimensional installations and multi-media work, striking a balance between the traditional expectations of their craft and the formal expectations of the contemporary art world. The artists in this exhibition are all recognized printmaking educators.Because this work will require the presence of the artists to install and create on-site, the participants will be available share their knowledge and methods through the [Press] at Untitled workshops, lectures, and print-specific public demonstrations
[Artspace] at Untitled is a contemporary art center designed to stimulate creative thought and new ideas through the presentation of exhibits focusing on national and international artists. As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, Untitled is committed to providing free public access to its programs, performances, and publications, and to engaging the community in collaborative outreach efforts.

Fine Prints and Paper – Kansas City

April 22nd, 2013

This past weekend the Fine Prints and Paper Kansas City first annual exposition was held at Leedy-Voulkos Art Center in Kansas City. I enjoyed seeing many friends and colleagues, meeting new friends and sharing my prints with everyone there. Looking forward to next year’s event!

Fine Prints and Paper KC seeks to continue and enhance Kansas City’s legacy in the printed and paper arts. By establishing an annual forum where lithographers, letterpress artists, etchers, papermakers, book artists and others can meet, exchange ideas and present their efforts to the public a major step will be made in the effort of maintaining and strengthening Kansas City’s role as a major regional and national center for the paper arts. It will stimulate further interest among artists in printmaking and the paper arts. Demonstrations and workshops will serve to engage and educate the public, raising levels of interest and connoisseurship.
