All She Ever Wanted was Everything: Laura Berman’s Rock Collection 2000+ hand-cut intaglio prints, each print life-size. Installation size approx. 4 x 6 feet. 2007-2008 My personal rock collection has been amassed over the course of my life and includes 200+ specimens representing geographical prints of places I have been. I have moved and traveled extensively throughout America, and lived in over a dozen different cities and towns. My rock collection has joined me at each of these locales, and in one move I made across country, I distributed my entire collection of fiction to friends at the expense of keeping my rocks. Re:Collection, the body of work I am currently working on, explores multifarious works equally inspired by both the permanence and whimsy that cohabitate within my personal rock collection.
